E6510 & NVS 3100M video card....external monitor resolution

New Latitude E6510 w/ NVidia NVS 3100M video card.  As spec'd, 3100M should drive 2560 x 1600.  I have a Dell U3011 connected through an E-port Plus Replicator.  Problem is that I can't get a resolution better than 1920 x 1280, either through the Nvida or Windows 7 interface.  Already spent a few hours w/ Dell and have NVidia's 3/17/2011 Driver 8.17.12.6776.

Never would have bought a 30" monitor to run 1920 x 1080.  Anyone with the same problem, or better yet a solution?

Thanks

I'm running a U3011 with an E6510 laptop, and I can't get it to go any higher than 1920x1080. I'm using a displayport cable. I've tried two separate U3011s and they both behave in the same way. Also, I can run a 2408WFP at 1920x1200, but the U3011s can't even do that. If anyone can tell me what the problem is or how to get this working at native resolution, I'd really like to know.

Thanks!

You've downloaded the latest driver?  I'm using NVidiia's 8.17.12.6776  3/17/2011

OK, my driver is now at version 8.17.12.7061, but it did not make any difference.

Well, I installed the latest driver from Dell, but that's only 8.17.12.5922. I'm currently downloading a later one from NVidia. I'll let you know if it makes a difference.

Try displayport instead of DVI.

The problem was my displayport cable. I was using the one that came with my 2408WFP, which works fine with that monitor at 1920x1200. My new displayport cable looks identical, but works with the U3011 at 2560x1600.
