Game slowdown issue after video card update
Specs:
Dell Inspirion E1505 vMM061
Windows Vista
6.0.6002
x86
BIOS A17
After installing the latest drivers for ATI Mobility Radeon X1400, every one of my games, which are well within my PC's requirements, are exeperiencing extreme slowdowns for several minute intervals. Then it runs smoothly again, slows down, rinse and repeat. Obviously these games ran fine before the update (My current version is 8.360).
I did try rolling back my video card, however this does not solve the issue and every time the AC Adapter was unplugged from my laptop I get a bluee screen. Of course I had no choice but to update again.
I can't use Restore because this happened farther back than any of the restor points available.
So what course of action would you guys recommend?

Install the June 2010 Directx update and REINSTALL the X1400 drivers.
Then adjust the "appearance" settings to maximum performance which will Kill the Aero features.
DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010) - Microsoft
The X1400 DOES NOT SUPPORT DirectX11 at all ever.
Vista Drivers are WDDM 1.0 (Directx9.0c) and will never be WDDM 1.1 (Directx 11)
Re Run the System Performance Evaluation and you should see it say Testing Directx 9 Aero performance.

Thank you very much for the repky.
I intsalled the Direct X update, I think; extracting the files to a folder, running the dxsetup, then rebooting.
Now, how do I go about reintsalling the drivers?
