The driver for the 8600gs the same as the one for 8600gt. Nvidia drivers suport the entire range of video cards. This unless your card is part of some larger package wich include some other functionalities (tv tunner and some other stuff).
I'm afraid I donno about Blue-Ray but considering the gt class is superior to gs I would guess that the gt would play blue ray better than the gs.
