Green Horizontal lines on my screen

Hi all

I have recently been given an Inspiron 800, p3 750mhz, 192mb ram, xp pro. Sadly there are constantly 2 solid green lines running through the centre of the screen horizontaly and i cannot seem to find a way of removing them. I have updated the video driver and this has not helped.

I would be very grateful for any help on this matter!

Thanks

Rob

Hi Billy,

No I havent. Being as I have never owned a laptop before perhaps you could let me know how I would go about doing this...

According to the previous owner the green lines appeared apprx 3 months ago for no apperent reason.

Many Thanks

Rob

If it's anything like my green lines wich are intermittent.

I've narrowed down the problem to the ribbon cable wich connects the LCD to the Video card. If i move it around it makes the screen go garbled or perfect.

It's a real pain the asss, as dell will only sell you the complete LCD wich is expensive, all i need is a cheap ribbon cable.

Thanks, I've tried it and still have the green lines. I'd say it's fast looking like a new screen?
