Hard drive crash and re install problems.
After replacing my defective hard drive re installing windows 7 has been a major problem. At the beginning of the installation a message appears that a cd/DVD driver is missing and must be installed to proceed. My problem is that the driver is not on the windows CD or the driver CD. I have also not been able to find it on the Dell page either. I then tried installing from an external DVD player. That also did not work. I am just plain stuck and frustrated. I would appreciate any help I can get.

Hi timbo031,
I recommend, check in BIOS if the DVD drive is detected. Also, check if the first boot device is set to DVD drive and boot with the Operating system disk.
