Help with laptop - no admin password

A friend of ours gave our daughter a laptop a few years ago when she was too young to really use it. He wiped it and set up two user accounts - one for daughter and a custom admin. Daughter cannot download anything without admin permission. Well, he forgot the password to the admin account. So I have a non-admin user with basically no permissions and an admin user that is password protected but don't know the password. I have no Windows recovery or password recovery disks. Unless I am blind, the laptop doesn't even have a CD disk tray. Is there anything I can do to reset the admin password or wipe and restore?

Nikkispencer,

You will need to purchase a Windows 7 usb disk or download Windows 7 iso and create a  bootable usb to install Windows.

You can reset Windows 7 password using the free open-source software -  Offline NT Password & Registry Editor:
