How can I find what screen I have?
My screen is item number 320-6078. It is the 1440x900. Under hardware it just says genereic monitor. And the item number on my invoice does not give a brand. How can I find out? It seems a bit snowy to me on certain scenes. I only have a few days until my 21 days are up.

settings----control panel----system------device manager-----monitors
if the manufacturer column is blank
click the the tab---- details and select hardware ids in the drop down box
ull get sumthing like----monitor/....
google this and youll find the scrreen name and the manufacturer along with more info

Control Panel - Device Manager - Monitors - Generic PnP Monitor - Details - Hardware Ids
The Value you see will be either CMO for Chi Mei, LPL for LG, and SEC for Samsung.

Mine says CPT141F, does anybody know what it stands for as well? I mean the brand.
It is a regular glossy WXGA monitor by the way.

Thanks guys for the help. It turns out I have an LG display
. I am going from an old CRT to this laptop and the screen does not seem as sharp as the CRT. In comparing your notebook to others, do you feel the Dell XPS 1530 has a good display or just average?
