How can I go about ordering a replacement motherboard?

I have experience repairing laptops and a friend brought me her laptop that has the a/c jack broken off.

It's an easy fix, I just need a board.

Thanks,

It may be easy, but it won't be inexpensive - boards for most Dell notebooks run $500 just for parts.

Drew:

You just want the AC Jack part of the board or a whole brand new board?

What model were you looking for in regards to the motherboard?

Can't be that much.

They have a teacher friend that is given a new laptop every year. This person broke the a/c power recepticle and gave them this Inspiron 1150.

I would try to solder it on if I could find a replacement.

Thanks for the Dell #.

Ejn63 is right about the price... but also check ebay too... i got a brand new MB for $320.00 Canadian for my 5100, you never know what you will find on there (just make sure the seller has a really good feedback rating)
