How do I increase display resolution to 1280x1024 on Inspiron 6000?

Hi,

I had to replace my hard drive and I'm having a challenging time restoring back to the previous configuration.  I currently have an Inspiron 6000 connected with a Dell 1905FP Monitor.  The Monitor works best with the 1280x1024 resolution, however I am limited to 1280 x 800 on the laptop.  I know this worked before.... my hunch is a missing driver (as that seems to be my theme problem).  Does anyone know how to resolve this problem?

Thanks for your help!

Yes, I have downlouded the Dell driver.... that didn't seem to work.  To fix the problem, I downloaded the driver for the monitor and then manually forced the laptop to recognize the monitor driver.  It took a lot of playing around.... but it's working now.
