How to determine specific hardware inside my Inspiron 6000?

Question

I recently purchased an Inspiron 6000. I declined the Windows EULA and immediately put Linux on the machine, but now I am not sure what exact hardware I have inside so that I can configure the kernel properly (specifically so that I can enable DMA for my chipset and thus can watch DVDs). Any utilities available to list my hardware (lspci doesn't seem to give me the motherboard, though it does give the IDE chipset) or articles with a list of the exact components inside?

Just use a knoppix cd to boot. During the boot process all hardware recognized by knoppix is listed on the screen...

I actually did a Knoppix HD install into Debian. Knoppix was unable to turn DMA on even though it tried and the result is choppy DVD playback.

Or peek in the BIOS it will tell you the bulk of ur hardware... or use Dell's support site n ur service tag...
