How to get this Vostro 1520 to work.
A friend gave me a Vostro 1520 but pulled the hard drive from it. I had a working hard drive from an Inspiron 1501 with an operating system on it which I inserted into the Vostro but it does not work. Windows tried to repair but it did not work. How can I get this to work?

Welcome to the community,
This is Raghavendra BS, from Dell technical suport. With regards to the issue, i would like to inform you that we ideally need to reinstall the operating system on the hard drive that you have replaced on your Vostro 1520. The hard drive that was on Inspiron 1501 would have the drivers for chipset of Inspiron 1501; so it wont work as it needs to identify the current system chipset and all the other components. I would advise you to reinstall the operating system and that will fix the issue.
