INSPIRON 15-3520 HELP PLEASE!
Hi,
I am facing some issues with my laptop I would be very grateful if you could help.
Firstly my laptop takes very long to start up and whilst staring up from time to time it keeps showing a black blank screen. It stays on there for ages.
When it has finally started up it takes ages to just load up and be ready to open an application.
I have done a scan of my laptop and no infections have been detected.
Secondly it says 'plugged in but not charging'.I have tried the most popular solution which is uninstalling 'microsoft ACPI-complaint control method battery' and removing my battery and then re inserting it after few minutes and then scanning for hardware changes. Unfortunately I have had no luck.
Please offer any help.
Thanks,
Mubassira

How old is the battery? It might need replacing. Run the Diagnostics to test all the hardware and check the hard drive. If you are under warranty, contact support for hardware replacement. Batteries have a limited warranty, but other hardware is warrantied for the length of your contact.
Always include your operating system in your posts and mention if you have made any changes lately.

I have a Dell Interspersion 3520. This model does not have desktop mode is not I have updated the Quickest driver. When I plug it in the Battery will not charge. The battery indicates that it is charging. The battery availability stay at 0% but indicates charging. I have ran the Dell Diagnostic tool at the Dell support web site and it indicates that the battery is healthy and working correctly. I have windows 8.1. Hi Patanejoseph ,
Let me know if the system turns on only with the Ac adapter.
Please check if the Ac adapter & battery is detected in BIOS. Tap F2 at startup to open BIOS. Also check with a known good battery.
Reply with your findings to help you further.

I have tried with two different adapters and multiple outlets. The laptop works on AC without the battery. The battery shows as healthy and charging but will not charge any further than 0%. I am running Windows 8.1 64 bit OS. I cannot update the Bios because i get a message stating the battery has to be at-least 10% to flash the bios. i have the latest version of quickset 64 installed.

Check system setup (F2 at powerup). Is the AC adapter listed or showing "unknown"? If unknown, the battery will not charge.
If that's the case, and you've already tried another adapter, next is to replace the DC jack:

If that does not solve the problem, the mainboard needs to be replaced.
