Inspiron 15R (5537) long boot time (8 minutes)
Just received a new Dell and the boot time is 8 minutes to desktop. How do I find the problems. This is a Core i7 with windows 7 and is very slow. Something is wrong. Any suggestions.

Does the system have McAfee, Norton or one of the other invasive security suites on it?

I just received your question today - 3/3/20415??? Anyhow, this was all resolved late December and early January. Turned out to be a bad Windows 7 install. Reinstalled and things were better but then it was still slow and eventually they sent a new PC which worked right off the bat. So, bad hard drive perhaps and faulty Win 7.
