Inspiron 15r (n5110) graphics driver issues

Hello,
I recently had to have my hard drive replaced. I had a fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate ready to go, booted it up, and got what drivers I needed up and running.
Problem is, I am completely unable to install the drivers needed for the nVidia Geforce GT 525M graphics card that is a part of my system. The only driver I can install is for the Intel HD Graphics 3000 which, as I understand it, is the integrated card for the system.

I've been all over the internet trying to find a solution, and nothing I've found is working for me. Assistance would be greatly appreciated.

  2. Select ‘Component’ under ‘Choose a Diagnostic Type’.
  3. Select ‘Video Card’ under ‘Make a selection’.
  4. Click on ‘Run Diagnostics’ button.
  5. Let me know the results.
  6. Select ‘Video Card Stress’ under ‘Make a selection’.
  7. Click on ‘Run Diagnostics’ button.
  8. Let me know the results.

Ravi,

Executed both tests, and results were green across the board for the Intel HD graphics card. Nothing was shown for the nVidia that I want working, however.

Hi wraithewulfe,

I would advise you to install the video card driver from the Dell website below.

Hi wraithewulfe,

I would advise you to update the BIOS on your system and then try reinstalling the video card driver to check for issue resolution.

Inspiron N5110 BIOS A11            : http://dell.to/1524gEb

NVidia Geforce GT 525M              : http://dell.to/YobXBL

If the above steps do not fix the issue then please send me a private message with your name and computer's service tag and I will check what can be done. To send a private message, click on my name and select start conversation.

Please let me know if this helps.
