Inspiron 1764 video problem after updating software

I updated the software on my brand new laptop and now my laptop background is looking like there is a problem with the video driver.

I have tried everything I know, tried to update driver (Says it is the latest), removed the driver and still a problem.

What is going on?

You didn't really put enough detail to troubleshoot this issue.  Since it is a new laptop, I assume you are using windows 7.  What software did you update?  I would guess that the problem is related to the software you updated.  Did you try a system restore?

It is a laptop running Windows 7. And, being new there are quite a few updates going on. I believe the cause might

some sort of Windows update.

If you are running windows 7, then the windows restore programs functions pretty well.  I would do a sytem restore and if the computer is fixed after the restore, I would download my updates one at a time.  That way if the problem occurres again you know what update did it.  If there is not a hardware problem the restore should get you back up and running.
