Inspiron 3147 memory upgrade?
I got conflicting answers when I was shopping for the laptop. My Inspiron 11 3000 Series (3147) comes with 4 GB of DRAM. Can it be upgraded to an 8 GB DRAM? Dell Support and Crucial both seem to only be offering me a 4GB chip.

It has one memory socket, max 4G -- no, it cannot be upgraded to 8G.

Not the answer I was hoping for--performance can be sluggish--but I can live with it. Thanks.

I have been running with 8GB for over a year in my 3147. No issues at all.

Can you tell me where you got the 8GB chip, and the maker, etc.? When I tried Crucial and entered the model number it only came back with a 4GB option.
