Inspiron 3520 will not load Windows 8 - Error in main app- Font 'Arial' does not support style 'Bold'.

My laptop, which we purchased about a year ago will not load properly.   It cycles through a W8 load, but then I get an error message that says:

Error in main app- Font 'Arial' does not support syle 'Bold'

At this point everything stops working, including the touch pad. I can move the cursor, but cannot select 'OK' to close the error message.  

Then sometimes I get a blue screen that say

Your Computer has experienced a Problem and will need to shut down:(

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
