Inspiron 5547 might pop open at the right hinge

I bought my laptop about an year back but from the past 6 months it is making click sound whenever i open or close it. I contacted the dell customer service centre but they said that it is not covered under warranty. I haven't yet rectified the problem and reading other posts, I am scared it will pop open at the right hinge. Please help as my product is now not covered under warranty.
