Integrated Cam turns itself on when plugging in extended monitor.

Whenever I plug my monitor into my laptop (VGA) my integrated cam turns itself on. I don't get the Dell Webcam center to pop up just the light turns on and runs. I know it's running because when I open the Dell Webcam software it shows a quick image of whomever is in front of the cam and switches to the IM settings. It doesn't turn itself off until I close the Dell Webcam Center program and reopen it then close it again. It's not a BIG deal since I've been dealing with it since I've bought the laptop but it is kind of annoying. Thanks.
