Internal Microphone not working in GMail Voice-Solved
Thought I would share this issue with members to alleviate a lot of frustration for those of you who are having trouble in GMail Voice with your audio not getting to your called party through the Internal Microphone. I thought my problem was with my audio settings on my Vostro 1520-Win7 Pro- IDT HiDef Audio. I spent a lot of time looking at the Internal Webcam Center settings as well as the Control Panel-System Sounds-IDT HiDef Recording(Mic) Settings.
The problem was when the GMail Voice plug-in installed, it set up the microphone as the "Default" one in my IDT HiDef Recording(Mic) Settings. After much checking around with what I thought were my computer settings, I finally went to the "Chat" Settings in my Google Account. It was there I saw that the Voice plug-in had set my microphone as "Default". When I clicked on the drop down menu and set the microphone setting as "IDT Internal Microphone" rather than "Default"- VOILA! My voice is now being transmitted to the other party through the Internal Mic-no external microphone needed. Hope this helps somebody out.

You're very welcome. Was hoping the post would help at least one person. Took me a couple days, too-off and on- figuring it out. Sure was frustrating there for a while.

This didn't work for me, but re-downloading the gmail voice plugin and re-installing it did.

Thank You! I know this was posted about three years ago but I have been dealing with the "no sound" problem for months. I have installed and reinstalled drivers, set my computer back to safety mode, and so much more. With your tip, I finally solved a problem that was indeed quite simple :)

I am a 56 year old man who cant spell very well. Do you have any suggestions on how i can use my internal microphone to compose emails with gmail? Or do you know of a good program that would also work such as dragonfly? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
