Inverter or LCD on Studio 15 CFL
So I have read the posts concerning similar questions, but there does not seem to be a consensus on which may be the issue when the backlight suddenly goes out on a Studio 15 laptop. Is there any way to test which is the culprit?
As of now, the laptop works fine with an external monitor, but the primary display has no backlight at all. Thanks for your assistant.

The test would be to check the voltage in and out of the inverter with a voltmeter -- if you check the output be very careful - it is a very high voltage.

What type of voltages would be considered normal?

It's possible to check the workings of the inverter without opening the system
or connect anything to the high voltage inverter leads.
