Issue with Latitude D520 & D/Dock PD01X
I am having an issue with a Latitude D520 (XP Pro, BIOS vA06) and a D/Dock model PD01X - I get the following message anytime I re-boot or re-dock:
Your system is connected to a D/Dock. This is an unsupported
configuration. Some D/Dock features, such as the PCI slot will not function.
Strike the F3 key (before the F1 or F2 key) if you do not want to see
warning messages again.
Strike the F1 key to continue, F2 to run the setup utility
Press F5 to run onboard diagnostics.
When I choose F2, I can't find anything that needs to be changed. The Latitude D520 is updated to BIOS version A06 (updated post OS install), running Windows XP Pro. I have been assuming that if I need to use the PCI slot I won't be able to which is no big deal for me. However, I would love to make sure.
Any insight would be apprecitated?
Michael

I've had exactly the same issue with my D530 (XP Pro, BIOS vA06). The D/Dock itself is a few years old. I've tried updating the firmware on the D/Dock to A04, but that's made no difference. I was hoping to install a better sound card in the PCI slot, but the error message would imply that it won't work. Looking at the adverts on DELL's website, there is nothing to suggest that the D/Dock isn't compatible with the latest Latitudes.
Has anyone else found a solution to this problem?
