RE: Keyboard Backlight Stopped working Dell Inspiron 7000 13

I have checked the back, I have gone as far as getting the battery out, then the hard drive, and I was able to see the keyboard cables connecting to the motherboard, they seemed to be connected properly, still having come this far, I removed the cables cleaned out the connceters and re-inserted it back firmly.

But I didn't remove the keyboard and palmrest unit, cause the purpose was to check for loose cables not for removing it,

Even having done that , the keyboard backlight doesn't seem to respond.

What do i do?

Replacing the unit is huge pain and is expensive also means I won't have the laptop for a while
