L702X will not turn on

Hi there,

My L702X suddenly turned off while it was in use, I tried to restart it and also tried the battery drain  but the blue cord on the charger goes out when its plugged in which I knew was a motherboard issue.

I replaced the motherboard with a new one and also replaced the system fan and also got a new power supply (original) my old one was buggered anyway. After replacing the new board it still wont turn on. The blue ring stays on when plugged in now so im sure the board isnt at fault but I cannot think of what else I can do. The battery also charges when plugged in so the DC jack is fine I have replaced the power button and also tried to get it to boot without the audio board or the usb board but no luck!!!

Any ideas!!!

Hi ,

Thank you for the reply!I would suggest you to disconnect the peripherals(hard drive ,memory modules and the graphic card )then try to turn on the system by installing the peripherals one by one .For instance connect the hard drive first and then turn on the system ,see if you hear any beeps or any error codes in the form of indicator lights. Then repeat the same step with memory modules and finally the graphic card .

If there are any more queries do reply to this post we will be glad to resolve them for you .

Kindest Regards,

Hi there,

I have tried to boot the laptop with the usb ports disconnected the gfx card and with minimal parts installed. I don't get any sound what so ever when I try to turn it on I put a new power switch on a new system fan as well and a new board which now the charger light will stay on when plugged in but nothing else still happens. Im waiting for a new dc jack to arrive to see if that's a problem. I have already replaced the power supply as well. What do I need as a minimum to make it turn on ie memory installed hdd, processor etc.

Hi,

In this case as you have mentioned you have replaced the motherboard ,power supply unit  and also you mentioned you are waiting for new DC in jack.

So here I would suggest you to remove the memory modules and hard drive from the system as I have mentioned earlier. If the memory modules were faulty after removing them from the system you should be able to hear 2 beeps thus indicating no memory modules detected .Below is the table which give clear idea of the beep codes and faulty component involved ,

I hope this helps.

Kind Regards,
