Laptop DVI/HDMI Out max resolution?

Hi,

I own a LG 21:9 aspect ratio that can support 2560x1080 and has Display Port and HDMI input

Can my dell xps studio with ATI MOBILITY RAEDON 4670 Graphics card support this via Display Port / HDMI in anyway?

I looked ont he website and it says that the Display Port handles this res, but didn't want to buy one in case it didn't work

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks,

Martyn

Hi Martyn,

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670 supports following resolutions:

  • DisplayPort support up to 2560x1600
  • HDMI support up to 1920x1080

Hope this helps. Please reply if you have any questions.

Martyn,

Did you get the 2560x1440 resolution to work?

I have a xps 1647 and a HD 4670 graphics card, and was thinking of getting a 2560x1440 monitor but wanted to know if it work before buying. I've read on this forum other people not being able to get the HD 4670 with an XPS 1640 to work at 2560x1440.

Thanks.

Hi there!

Yes, I got it to work and works well. Only works through the DVI cable connect though, not HDMI. But the quality is not compromised

Hi,

Did you connect from Display port on your laptop, and then have a connector Displayport-->DVI cable?

Also, what model of XPS are you using? Mine is Studio 1647.

Thanks.

This information correct for all laptops with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670 video card. I have Studio XPS 16" with this video card but can't find information regarding highest resolution support in DP
