Laptop keeps randomly shutting down

Hey guys, I have an Inspiron 7737 laptop running Windows 8.1 and one problem I've had since I got it is it keeps randomly shutting down. Just out of the blue, I could be doing something and the screen suddenly goes black and I have to reboot. This only happens when the laptop is plugged in, never on battery, and weirdly, never when it's playing a movie or running a game either! I thought it could be something to do with overheating and the fans, because it does get very hot, but after sending it off for repairs (unrelated - but I took the opportunity to get some new fans) the problem remains.

Any help/advice?

Hi TsarNiko,

Thanks for posting.

Be sure that all the air intake vents are clean and free from restrictions. Overheating is the number one cause for this event.

Have you run System Diagnostics yet to be sure there's no hardware beginning to fail?

If none of this is working, then please contact Tech Support for further diagnosis and possible repair or replacement.  Thanks.
