Latitude D600 speed
Hi i have that notebook but the speed dosen't seem to be 1500mhz i have tried a cpu identification util and it show me that the processor speed it's 600mhz.
Anyone know at the bios if it must be on a special option to work fast?.

Hi josegalvez !
Your computer is running normal, 600mhz in normal for non intense usage. Your notebook (D600) 1.5ghz Dothan chip uses Enhanced Speed Step Technology! It does that to use less power and less heat during normal usage. If you want your notebook to run at 1.5, or just to by pass "Speed Step". You will have to open up your "Power Option Properties", and select "Always On". That will run your notebook at 1.5ghz all the time, but it will also produce more heat and use more power. I use to want my notebook to run always at 1.7, but find it's better to let Speed Step do it's job. :P You might want to download a temp control program for your cpu (Fan control), since it will get hotter than usual.
