Latitude D630 Virtualization in Bios
Why do we have this Virtualization choice in the Bios. Do we need this for XP or Windows 7? What is it actually for? Does the computer run better when this is turned on or off? Any ideas are appreciated.

Some applications require hardware virtualization - others don't. For those that do require it, it must be enabled in BIOS setup for it to function properly.

VMware is one application that requires hardware virtualization - ordinary desktop application such as those you've listed, do not.
