Latitude E6410 - Add Dell 5540 WWAN card?

Hi all,

I have a Latitiude E6410, and I've bought a Dell 5540 WWAN card off eBay to fit into it.  The 2 antennae were there already, so I connected them and slotted the card in and secured it down with the screw.

However, it won't show up in bios at all, and thus windows doesn't recognise it.

I'm using the latest Bios (A13), this was upgraded befre fitting the new card.

Any ideas? Do you think updating the bios again with the card fitted would help?

Thanks,

Gareth

Hi, the issue turned out to be the WWAN card was DOA.  I have now received a replacement card (a DW5620 in fact) and it's working fine in Windows 7.

Strangely it still shows up in the bios as being no cellular device present?

Thanks for your help.

Hi mcquigar,

You can try resetting/loading the 'BIOS' defaults and check if the issue is fixed. If not, you may update the 'BIOS' once again. The following link will help you in downloading the 'BIOS':

http://dell.to/RSkHZ1

Please connect the Ac Adapter while updating the BIOS and do not use the system once the update is initiated until the system restarts completely.

I would also like to know the 'Tab' from where you are checking for the 'WWAN' card.

I hope this helps.

Please let me know in case of any queries.

Thanks and regards
