Latitude E7470 - Speakers

My external speakers for my E7470 laptop do not output sound unless the green stereo cable is plugged directly into it.  When the audio cable is plugged into the port replicator, it simply won’t output sound... The sound goes through the laptop speakers instead.  The in the Sound settings, the speakers show to be playing but the audio goes through my laptop.  The audio output won’t switch from my laptop port to the port replicator.  Everything was fine before but now it's just not working. Any suggestions on how to fix this issue?

If problem still occurred.....

Uninstall your audio driver: open Device Manager, right-click the audio driver, and select Uninstall. Restart system and Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver.

I'd suggest you run the System Restore tool to check for a previous date before Audio issue occurred. Please follow instructions in link below:

After you updated BIOS, update Audio and Chipset drivers in correct( installation) order on your Dell Product Support page. Please click on link below:

Press windows key and R key at same time, type devmgmt.msc  into box, and then enter. In device manager, look under 'Sound, video and game controllers', select your sound card, open it, select the Driver tab, and select Update Driver.
