Latitude X200 needs new CMOS battery
Hi,
I have a Dell Latitude X200 that has a CMOS battery going bad. Is there an alternate part number or a certain voltage etc that I need to get. I see several on amazon etc. but need to know if they will work.
Thanks,
John

This battery recharges from the main system battery, so be sure that is working.

Hi and thank, How long does this CMOS battery stay charged? I am used to not having the laptop powered for a month or so and when I do it has the date and time all changed and incorrect. I have to almost everytime I boot up change these to the current date and time. Is this normal?
Thanks,
John

If the main battery has a charge, the CMOS battery should run indefinitely. If the main battery is dead, and you unplug the power, the CMOS battery will quickly go dead in less than a month.
