Hi oleahector,

To know which PCI card was installed in the system and to download the drivers for that device, follow the steps from this link: http://dell.to/1amOS8o

If you are finding it difficult in searching the drivers for PCI card, follow the steps from the above link and please send me the Vendor ID and Device ID of the PCI card or you can also send me the Hardware IDs as you did earlier.

Awaiting your response!

Dell only has the 64 Bit drivers listed available for your specific model
Intel HD Graphics 4400 Driver here:

www.dell.com/.../drivers

Intel however provides the 32 bit Drivers for Windows 8.1

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24869/Intel-Iris-and-HD-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-8-1-32-bit

Let me know, you can choose either link from the page. One is an exe the other is a zip file.

There are no Windows 7 drivers because Dell chooses to only support Windows 8.

Since you made the decision on your own to install Windows 7, it is up to you to find your own drivers.

Hi oleahector,

Inspiron 17R 5737 was not shipped with Windows 7; hence Dell support site does not have drivers for the Windows7.

Inspiron 17R 5737 has the Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller in it so as the Inspiron 7720/5720. You may use this link to Download and install the Network card drivers for Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller: http://dell.to/1ak5Q2k

To install Wireless card drivers, please provide me the hardware IDs. Open “Device manager” window, select the “Other device”, right click “Network Controller” listed under Other devices, click “Properties”, select “Details” tab, click the dropdown menu under “Property” and select “Hardware Ids”, please take a screen shot and post it in the reply, so that I can search for the right drivers.

Awaiting your response!

Hi oleahector,

Please install the below mentioned drivers:

Network: http://dell.to/1ak5Q2k

Wireless: http://dell.to/19CZTBn

Hope this helps!

I am having the same issue, the network driver you provided helped and now the Ethernet port works. Any wireless network driver I've found, including the one you've provided, tells me that the platform I am on is not supported. I also have the exact same hardware IDs as the oleahector, so I can't imagine it would work for him either. Thank you very much for helping, I'd much rather put in the effort to fix these drivers than to switch back to windows 8.

none of these worked one is not comaptible with windows 7 and the other just gives me a failed message

Yeah if you view the log for the one that just gave you a failed message it tells you that it was because of the platform.
