Maximum RAM upgrade supported by Dell Vostro 3400

I was looking for some information on maximum ram size supported by dell vostro 3400.

This laptop came with 3GB DDR3 1333 MHz RAM.

Please let me know, whether I can upgrade the RAM to 8 GB.

Hi Munir,

Welcome to the Community. The Vostro 3400 will support a maximum of 8 GB. The memory type for this system is DDR3 1067/1333 MHz SODIMMs. So you can add 2 sticks of 4 GB.

Hope this helps.

Thank you

Not All Sodimm are created equal. High Density Non JEDEC spec ram will not work.

Low density modules will have 8 chips or more on one or both sides.

High density modules will have 2 or 4 chips on 1 side.

If you buy High density ram from crucial and DO NOT USE their memory configurator to GUARANTEE that

the ram will work with your model they will not take it back when it doesnt work.
