Memory parity Error , What exactly is this erroR?

hi I have an
E1705 Core Duo 2.0ghz
1gb ram
80gb hdd
ATI x1400

I've been experiencing with blue screen Memory Parity Error message randomly usually a couple of weeks or days, it'll show up on my screen.

ANyone suggest anything? Did Dell notice this serious issue. Many Users on Notebookreview.com has the same problem like me.

NOte: Dell recently sent me a new replacement system with the same specs except they put Core2 Duo in there. Blue screen problem still show up on my laptop.

I'll write Dell another letter to my technician and see what's their solution.

SO did I, seems like most new laptops has those problems. Dell can't do anything to solve it. Weird dell. I thought these things passed all the testing before sell to people.

I saw this once on my E1705. Dell Support said to remove and re-seat RAM cards. It's been over two months now and I have not seen this problem since.

with me it started out every now and then but then got worse.

If you are lucky it may be just reseating your RAM . Or it could be defective Ram. After numurus instals Dell sent a tech out replaced Ram and mainboard then sent a Hardrive with factory installed OS . Still got the errors often they sent a replacement M 1710 the same thing with that. Theese errors really started poping up when the dual core was released. I feel it is processor issues not comunicateing with the dual core or the cores not in sync with the Ram after everything that was replaced on my first M 1710. So far so good with this one. And the memmory test even passes all test on both machines. I do know it isnt the OS as right after clean instals before even adding software I would get them. My only guess a bad batch of processors.

Well, I called Dell again and they're sending me a third replacement. But seems like the 2nd replacement i'm having only have 2 blue screens. I left the computer on for 4 days and no problem with blue screen yet.

Yes I honestly think that Dell got a hold of a pretty large amout of defective processors for the core due laptops. Just a guess tho.

Good luck #3 is working great for me so far.

EVEN THE 3rd laptops doesn't work. The technician guesses the RAM failure but it's not. They sent me a new pair of rams. I plug them in properly then run a memtest. NO errors found. Then after that 5 or 7 hours i have the same blue screen MEMORY PARITY ERROR. I WAS SO . I want a blue screen - free laptop.

Dell must do something with this issue. Seems like there's an amount of users out there having the same problem. Both in notebookforums.com and notebookreview.com , there are number of members are experiencing this problem.

I was able to go 5 months without hitting this error again, then it happened again two nights ago and again last night.   Has their been any update on this issue somewhere or am I stuck playing musical chairs with my RAM modules and Dell?

Check on notebookreview.com forums / Dell . you'll see along thread about this issue. I think and many other think it's the bios conflicting with the system windows. THE error crashes both in WInxp and Vista.
