Is it possible to get a dual core or higher processor for a Dell latitude D610?

No -- the system takes only Pentium M CPUs, all of which are single-core.

you can upgrade up to 2.26 without issues... go here and see what you like...if you get the 2.26 , make sure you use a good therml paste

i have a d610 which i installed a 2.16 cpu from 1,86..also a wd 80gb hdd and 2 gb ram...i have win 7 pro and index score of 3.4!!! not bad for an older business machine
