My PC isn't charging?
Hello, I've been having recent troubles when it comes to charging my pc, it's not charging at all. I've updated my BIOS, I've disabled and enabled ACPI-Complaint Control Method Battery and Microsoft AC Adapter and also uninstalled and reinstalled them, these solutions didn't work. When booting, my pc doesn't recognize the adapter (it's a 65w ac adapter and when booting, it says I have to use an adapter 65w or higher otherwise the battery won't charge), so I have to sit near an outlet with the adapter plugged into my pc otherwise the battery will drain and I won't be able to use it.
Help?
I know my battery life is depleting so maybe I have to replace it?
Supposedly when the computer/adapter/battery is too hot, there are signals sent that prevent the pc from charging so the battery doesn't get damaged, but I let my computer cool down after sometime. :emotion-6: My adapter is fine, too, the pin is fine as is the brick and the cord.

Hello,
I would suggest going into your System Setup (BIOS) to see whether it's recognizing an AC adapter is plugged into the system and, if so, what wattage the adapter is. If the system doesn't see the adapter plugged in then you would want to first try resetting the BIOS to factory defaults, which is an option inside the System Setup screens.
If that does not work then I would recommend going to our support site, inputting your service tag, and allowing the site to redirect you to the pages specific to your model. Once that is done click on the Drivers & Downloads link and look in the BIOS category. Download and install the latest BIOS and hopefully that will resolve the issue. Make sure your system has power throughout the BIOS update process since you cannot shut it down, or allow it to power down, during the process. (it should only take a few minutes to download and run).
Hopefully that will resolve the problems both with the system not recognizing the AC adapter and charging the battery. Let us know if you have any questions, or if the above steps don't help you.
