Need Help with Inspiron 15R 5520 Laptop LCD issue
So the other day, the LCD on my 15R 5520 laptop goes black (faint image in the background but very dark). I pull the screen out, get the part number B156XTN02.0 and order a replacement screen online assuming it was the back light (keep in mind this laptop is only 15 months old). The replacement I got looked relatively similar and was assured by the supplier it would work.
I put it in and the screen would flicker and sort of jump around the screen. I also noticed that when I moved the screen back and forth (on the hinges) it would go completely black. So I decided that I would also replace the LCD cable. Installed a new LCD cable and plugged in the new LCD screen again and still had flickering but at least now you could move the screen without it going black. Ok... one problem solved.
So then I thought maybe I got a bad (or incompatible) screen. I returned it and bought another from a different company. Installed it and it too flickered badly (it also looked similar but was not the exact AUOptronics one I have). It seems no one will sell you exactly what you currently have.
I then decided to hook up an external monitor. It looked great... no issues.
Anybody have any idea what could be wrong? Am I just having bad luck with replacement LCDs or is something else wrong maybe on the main board? This laptop has integrated Intel Video. Oh Yeah... if I put the old LCD back in, there's no flicker or jumping around... you just can't see it without a back light.
I'm really frustrated,,, especially with Dell selling such an inferior product. The LCD should not go out 3 months out of warranty.
Any help would be appreciated.
