PXE-E61 : Media Test Failure, Check Cable

Question

Hallo, I have  Dell Latitude E6440, Windows 7 64 bit and i'm getting the error 'PXE-E61 : Media Test Failure, Check Cable' during startup. I have tried to check BIOS and i only have DVD Drive and Onboard NIC listed meaning the HDD is not being detected. Also tried starting up the laptop in safe mode and the results are the same. Please assist in sending a Dell Engineer to come and look at the devise. We are based in Dubai and the Warranty is still valid with NBD support plan. Best Regards, Steve

Hallo,

I have also run diagnostics and i get the message "Hard Drive - Not Installed" meaning it is clearly an issue with the Hard Drive. Either a connection issue or a physical issue within the hard drive.

Please help in resolving this.

You'll need to call Dell support to arrange replacement of the failed drive.
