Palm Tungsten T3, Dell D/Port Issues
1st and foremost, I do understand that the D/Port is NOT powered sufficiently to be able to maintain a connection to the T3 (thereby preventing a Hotsync from occuring). However, I have a question regarding the T2- does this unit have the same issue? Can you substitute a T2 instead of a T3 and will it sync just fine? I seem to have read in another Forum here that it does work, I'd like confirmation though.
Has anyone used a Palm Tungsten T2 with a D/Port replicator and found that it works OK? I think the idea of NOT making the D/Port USB hub powered a very illogical thing.
Thanks.

The APR is supposed to handle your power requirements - The PDA is data-only and does not draw very much power. The power to your PDA is provided by it's own adapter.
D/Ports are worthless, as far as the USB ports are concerned. If you have a USB mouse or keyboard, it will fail too.

The APR is supposed to be a powered hub. It just doesn't work.
Thanks.

For Interest - I have received the following reply to this issue from Palm Technical support:-
"Thank you very much for your inquiry. I understand that you are able to perform a successful HotSync(R) operation with your Palm(TM) Tungsten(TM) T3 handheld, when connected direct to the USB port, but not using the USB hub (read Dell D Port or Dock).
Please be informed that Palm, Inc. does not support connecting your Palm handheld to USB hub or port replicator. However, as the issue persists, I suggest that you contact Palm Technical support, as they are best informed and they would be glad to help you out to resolve the current issue."
