Plugged in and powering but not charging???
Hi can anyone help??
All of a sudden my laptop has stopped charging, it has not given any warning by reducing in battery life or anything it just gave an on screen message indicating that it did not recondnise the power supply and the battery meter has since only shown 3% however when plugged in the power supply the comp stays on, any ideas welome please :emotion-42:

If you're under warranty, call Dell - they'll send a new adapter first, and if that doesn't fix it, replace the mainboard.
If you're out of warranty, try the adapter first ($35 or so). If that doesn't solve the problem, the mainboard needs repair ($150-200, if possible) or replacement ($400-500) if not.
