Precision 5510 PremierColor high memory and unable to upgrade

PremierColor (ver 2.0.140) is consuming about 5GB of memory (after fresh restart). I attempted to update the driver; by entering my service tag in the Dell product support site and downloading the version offered for the PremierColor driver (ver 2.0.199). It failed to install with the message "Application only supports authentic Dell devices".

I've seen similar memory issues for XPS in threads, where the advice has been to update the driver (taking the memory down to 10s of MB). I have seen the "Application only supports authentic Dell devices" issue in threads, but with no resolution (if you ignore the option of uninstalling PremierColor).

How can I get a working version of PremierColor installed?
