Processor upgrade Dell N5010
Hello!
I own a Dell Inspiron N5010 with Intel Pentium Dual Core P6100 @ 2.0ghz , ATI Radeon Mobility HD 5650 1GB, 2+2GB RAM and I want to know if I can upgrade my processor, the package is 989 rPGA socket.
Any answers, solutions would be appreciated.

Yes, to any of the mobile Core i first-generation CPUs. The second-generation Core i CPUs (the ones with four-digit numbers) won't work.
Note that upgrading the CPU voids any remaining warranty.

This would be the fastest one (yes, there are Extreme Edition units but the system isn't designed to handle them).

Yes, that's my error. You need one of the i5***M or i7***M (or QM) CPUs. For example:

There is no board available that will allow for a video card - that cannot be upgraded from what you have.
The system shipped with first-generation Core CPUs, You can use the i7-840QM but that's not much of an upgrade, and it's the only one that'll work and is faster than what you have.

If it's an N5010, of that list, only the first one will be supported.
If it's a different model, we'll need to know which.
If it's a newer system, most require a complete mainboard replacement to change the CPU, as the vast majority of notebooks are now built with soldered-in CPUs rather than socketed CPUs as in years past.
