SSD's & Dell Inspiron i5577-5328BLK-PUS
Hi,
Forgive the questions if its an easy one to answer.
I have a 5577 that came stock with the 1 TB HHD and 8 Gb Ram.
I am looking to upgrade it so already know i can go up to 32Gb on the memory, but can i add a SSD and then move the OS to it to improve boot times?

You can replace the hard drive with a 2.5" SATA SSD, or you can keep the hard drive and add an M.2 2280 SSD to the system - there is an M.2 slot as well as the 2.5" space for the hard drive.

I have a 5577 that came with a 256GB M.2 SSD. As I'm using this in my recording studio, I upgraded the M.2 SSD to a 512GB model. Later, I added a conventional size SSD, installed in the hard drive/SSD slot as I determined the best operation for recording studio apps was to have two copies of Win 10 the original Dell image on the M.2 SSD and I installed a 2nd copy of Win 10 on the new SSD with recording studio software only. I was having some dropouts caused by some process in the original disc image. Rather than try to resolve the interrupts (audio dropouts) and possibly disable or corrupt something in the Dell OEM image, I opted for the second "clean" install. I have a dual boot option default is the Dell disc image but when I want to use it for recording I boot the clean install.

Thanks for the answers..Now the main question is clone my current c drive to the new ssd and change the boot order and re format the original HDD? Or is there a better (other) option?
