The mouse settings does not mention any scrolling option. Nor is it mentionned as a new option on most recent Dell laptops. Anyhow, I hoped that there would be some kind of soft add-ons to allow this scrolling option.
Many thanks for your attention and help. Eventually, I discovered that there is a scrolling option in the touchpad settings. May be this was made possible after downloading a new driver.

which machine do you have?
I have a 1520, and there is a silver line on the right and bottom of the touchpad. If I drag my finger down that line, the display scrolls.

In that case you can probably use 3 fingers and it still won't scroll. sorry.
Seriously, check out the touchpad settings in the Mouse section of the Control Panel. If there are any options for scrolling, they would be there.

Mine is a Latitude 520. And I do not see any silver line on the touchpad, which would allow the scolling.
