Sigmatel C Major Audio; not working properly

When I install the driver for my sound card (Sigmatel 9753) everything seems to get installed except the sigmatel c major audio which shows up with a black exclamation point.  The computer Im using is a latitude d510 bios A03, windows XP version 2002. please Advise.

yes, my friend reinstalled windows xp version 2002 and I had to add drivers for a few devices for him but when I tried adding the sigmatel 9753 driver for bios version a03 everything got installed like audio codecs etc. except the sigmatel c major audio. So he has no audio device installed. please advise.

Why are you installing the audio driver? Have you recently reformatted your hard drive?

After an OS install the audio driver won't load until the mobile chipset has been installed:

After you have performed an OS reinstallation, you have to install Dell Notebook System Software (find it under System & Configuration Utilities), then Intel Mobile Chipset (find under Chipset), then the audio and other drivers. Find all of these on your downloads page that was linked to by harold_mathew .

Tip from rpilT2005: If still having problems installing the driver, check in the Device Manager for a "PCI Device" with a yellow question mark next to it, under the "System Devices" grouping. Hit 'update driver' on that one, and it should find a driver.
