Studio 1535 Change hard drive

My Studio 1535 hard drive has a couple bad blocks, according Dell Diagnostic - Test Hard Drive. I have had it for only 13 months. So I have to replace HDD by myself.

Now I am wondering whether I can use the original recovery partition in a way so that my new hard drive can have exact same original Vista setting as original drive. In other words, I want my new hard drive have the same identical Dell factory setting as my original HDD. I hope the recovery partition can help doing that.

Does anyone have changed hard drive in Studio 1535? Having any problem? Can recovery partition help?

Please help,

Thank you very much.

You can try cloning the drive -- but expect that to fail.  You may be able to copy the recovery partition to the new drive, but you'll need to learn to use ImageX to load it once you've done that.
