Studio 1555 is overheating like crazy under heavy load

First I have to say that I love Dell, products. I've bought laptops, desktops and they all have worked nicely. On the company where I work we have over 2 hundred workstation, they work amazingly well despite beign more than a year and half old, and the support is excellent, they usually put us to do some simple test and send a techinician with spare parts in case of a hardware failure.

My studio 1555 was a nice pc with good specs at the time that I bought it but there was a problem that arised right after I started to play some games on it, it goes crazy hot very fast. After some failed attempts at dell support, that only prompted me to upgrade the bios, run fan speed test and clean the dust, that never resolved the issue, I ended getting myself a nice cooling pad (NZXT cryo LX), this helped dramatically to lower the terrible heat that my laptop was producing.

Sadly a few weeks ago I damaged my cryo, this rendered my laptop again unable to play any half demanding game at all or the cpu multiplier will Throttle my cpu to 6x multiplier each time it reached 85 celcius and It reach that within 15 or so minutes repeating every 3 or so minutes after, wich is ridiculous. My GPU (ati 4570) also reachs horrible high temp sometimes peaking well over 100 celcius forcing me to monitor the temperature of my laptop in an aggresive and manner. Also I think my laptop should run the fans at high speed more aggressively, high speed fan seems to kick in only right b4 throttling.

Because of this I can no longer play games when I arrive from work and thats my favorite hobby. I dont understand how a bulky cooler (not bashing the cryo but well is big) is required to keep the studio 1555 cool, how comes the cooling design was so poor for the studio 1555. I know that the studio was not designed for playing games, but I am 100% sure its impossible to keep this laptop from throttling the cpu at heavy load by using its own cool solution.

Well I'm probably angry just because I need to import a new cryo, but even then I'm dissapointed with the laptop in general, I am saving for an alienware m11x, I just hope that that laptop at least come with a decent cooling solution, for me this laptop just did not work.

For those that have this laptop and play a few games and have my very same problem, there is a workaround, under energy settings -> advanced energy settings->maximum processor state -> change it to 80%. That way the laptop will use less power and generate less heat, locking the multiplier to 8x, is slower but better safe than sorry.
