Unable to boot up / reset button (Latitude D410)
I get the message saying that i need DLL's for Kernel and for HAL depending on if I start up with or without the battery. After acknowledging prompt screen goes black. Using F8 mode does not seem to help. What does this mean. Is there a reset button on these machines,

If you are using WinXP, load the XP CD in your CD Drive and set "Boot from optical drive" in
BIOS Setup or F12 on boot for menu to set that.
When you enter the WinXP 'install' menu, select "Repair" and it should load those DLL's
for you.
Some Dell Portables do have a "ReSet" button, check your "User Guide" under "Notebooks" menu
at top of this page.
Most now, reset by holding power button down for ten seconds or so, doing that with power
and battery removed, discharges the capacitors (condensors).
