Using compressed air, blow through the BACK vents on your computer weekly
Using compressed air, blow through the BACK vents on your computer weekly. This will keep the heatsink and surrounding areas clean and therefore, overheating issues altogether.
My question is:" Where is dust going (out) when you blow throught the BACK vents"?
Again to inside the notebook or somewhere else?
Do we have to OPEN notbook remove keyboard, EMI shield and clean directly inside???

If you blow out the back vents the dust should come out the side vents. I know the i51XX series is a little different with the fans, but I usually take the fan assembly totally out of my i8600 and clean from the inside..... but on the i8600 it is easier, four screws and the fan comes straight out the bottom.

I take my keyboard and emi shield off to clean mine. It is much easier to get to things that way; and I also don't have to worry about pushing dust farther into the system.

if you know what you are doing, i suggest taking the keyboard off and manually cleaning the area out. Blowing compressed air into the laptop could cause damage (highly unlikely i know), but better safe than sorry. Obviously, this is even more risky if you don't know what you are doing.
