Video Shutdown

I have an Inspiron 1525.  Activation of the Integrated Camera (when taking Skype calls, for example or when just taking snapshots) causes an immediate Windows shutdown and a subsequent restart.  I get an error message BAD_POOL_HEADER before the restart commences.  Drivers for the camera are apparently installed correctly.  Any suggestions on a fix would be appreciated.
